Liquid Salt Production Pilot Plant
INTEGRATED MEMBRANE SYSTEM FOR INDUSTRIAL-GRADE LIQUID SALT PRODUCTION
Salt is a strategic commodity with high demand across household and industrial sectors, including PVC manufacturing, soap, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and other industries. However, Indonesia still relies on salt imports of approximately 2 million tons per year due to the inability of locally produced salt to meet industrial specifications, particularly the minimum NaCl content of 97%.
To address this challenge, PT Enerba Teknologi has successfully developed and implemented a 500-liter-per-hour liquid salt production unit using Integrated Membrane System technology. This pilot-scale system is designed to process and purify rejected brine from power plants (PLTU), transforming it into industrial-grade salt. The technology effectively increases brine concentration from 5°Bé to 25°Bé, fully tailored to user requirements.
This innovative solution not only enhances the value of rejected brine but also supports import substitution, resource efficiency, and sustainable industrial development through a compact, efficient, and scalable membrane-based system.
